WHAT AN HONOR

I've been asked to be Santa Claus
at this year's Bar Louie
"Naughty or Nice" holiday party.

I am indeed honored.

(The countdown is on.
One week to go.)

A SIGN OF THE TIMES

The extremes of housing
in St. Louis County
are becoming farther apart.

Single family housing
comes in all sizes
(like the two shown above),
from cozy modest homes
to ostentatious mansions.

Pretentious, obscene expressions
of wealth are signs that too many people
have too much of the wealth.

Our recent proposed tax cut legislation
embodies the perpetuation of
this inequality.
(President Trump must go.)

COME SEE
WHAT CARTER FOUND
IN EGYPT

A fabulous exhibit of the tomb
of King Tutankhamun and
1,000 life size adornments
as discovered by Howard Carter
is now on display in St. Louis.

The tomb, sarcophagus, his throne
and that amazing face mask,
plus gorgeous jewelry and
everything to prepare Tut
for the afterlife.

Such amazing craftsmanship
and all in solid gold.

Don't miss this exhibit.
At the St. Louis Science Center
through January 7.

MOSAIC MASTERPIECE

41-million pieces of tile and glass,
more than 8,000 shades of color,
cut, placed and installed over the decades
on 83,000 square feet of soaring domes
and arches inside the
Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis.

One of the "oustanding cathedrals of
the Americas", and a masterpeice
of Byzantine mosaic craftsmanship,
this cathedral is a showpiece attracting
 visitors from around the world.

(Mosaics under the side chapels
and arcades were installed by
Tiffany and Company.)

TRAINS
BIG AND SMALL

We're fascinated by trains,
especially at Christmas time.

Living in a train town
is exciting, especially
for children.
